No article goes live without passing through these steps:

5. Media selection — images and graphics chosen to illustrate, never to mislead
6. Editorial review — a second pair of eyes checks structure, tone, and completeness
7. Fact-checking — claims, dates, prices, and safety statements verified against sources
8. Final polish and publish — formatting, links, and readability checked before it goes live

How We Research

• Primary sources first — veterinary organizations, animal welfare bodies, and published animal-behavior research
• Hands-on where it counts — for product guides, we compare specifications, analyze real owner reviews, and test usability claims
• Multiple angles — where experts disagree, we say so instead of pretending there’s one answer
• Dates matter — prices, product availability, and guidelines are checked at publication time and noted as such

What Counts as a Source (and What Doesn’t)

Acceptable sources:

• Veterinary schools, professional veterinary associations, and animal welfare organizations
• Peer-reviewed animal behavior and nutrition research
• Official product documentation and manufacturer specifications
• First-hand testing and documented owner experiences (clearly labeled as such)

Rejected sources: random blogs with no cited evidence, AI-generated content farms, manufacturer marketing copy presented as fact, anecdotal social media claims, and anything we can’t verify independently.

Fact-Checking Standards

• Safety claims (foods, plants, medications) are verified against at least two reputable references
• Prices and product details are checked at publication and marked with their check date
• Statistics are traced to their original study or survey — never quoted third-hand
• Corrections are published transparently; if we get something wrong, we fix it and say so

Our AI Policy

We’re transparent about this: we may use AI tools for support tasks like brainstorming outlines or checking grammar. But no article on PetWise Daily is written entirely by AI. Every piece is drafted by a human, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before publication. If an AI tool ever touches a draft, a person still owns every word in the final version.

Editorial Oversight

• Final authority rests with our Editor-in-Chief, Emily Carter, who reviews every article before it publishes
• Named authors only — every article carries a real author’s byline; we publish no anonymous content
• No outside interference — advertisers, affiliates, and brands have zero influence over what we write or recommend

Pre-Publish Checklist

Before any article goes live, it must pass:

• Accuracy check against cited sources
• Readability review — would a tired pet parent at midnight understand this?
• Link check — every outbound link works and points to a trustworthy page

• Safety disclaimer present on health-related articles

• No pay-to-rank. Brands cannot pay for placement, positive reviews, or higher rankings in our guides

• Commissions never cost you extra. You pay the same price; the retailer shares a small cut with us
• Recommendations stand on merit. If a product is bad, we say it’s bad — even if it has an affiliate program
