Privacy Policy
Privacy policies are usually a wall of small print that nobody reads. This one is written for pet parents, not lawyers. It explains, in plain language, what information PetWise Daily collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. By reading or using PetWise Daily, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

How PetWise Daily Handles Privacy for Kids
PetWise Daily is written for adult pet parents and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please write to contact@petwisedaily.com and we will remove it from our records promptly. Pet care is a family activity, and we want the young ones in your home safe online as well as off.
The Information We Collect About You
When you visit PetWise Daily, we collect two kinds of information: things you tell us directly, and things our systems record automatically.
Information you provide directly may include:
- Your name and email address, when you sign up for our newsletter or leave a comment
- Information you include in the content of a comment, such as your pet’s name or training questions
- Details you share through our contact form when you reach out with a question
Information collected automatically may include:
- Your IP address, browser type, operating system, and internet service provider
- The pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the page that referred you here
- General location information derived from your IP address, such as country or city
- Cookie identifiers and similar device data used to remember your preferences
PetWise Daily does not ask for payment information, phone numbers, or mailing addresses. We simply have no reason to need them.
Where That Information Comes From
We gather information in a handful of ordinary ways. The comment box under our articles, the newsletter signup, and the contact form are the main places where you choose to share something with us. The rest comes through standard website technology: log files kept by our web server, Google Analytics, and cookies placed by your browser when you visit. Nothing here is unusual for a blog of this size, and nothing is collected behind your back.
What We Do With It
Everything PetWise Daily collects is used for practical, everyday purposes:
- Running and improving the site, including fixing pages and understanding which articles about training, grooming, and feeding help readers most
- Answering your messages and moderating comments
- Sending newsletters and updates you asked to receive
- Personalizing parts of your visit, such as remembering you have dismissed a notice
- Preventing fraud, spam, and abuse on the site
- Meeting legal obligations when the law requires it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand your email address to strangers.
Cookies on This Site
Cookies are small text files your browser stores when you visit a website. PetWise Daily uses them to keep the site working smoothly, to remember simple preferences, and to understand, in aggregate, how readers use our articles. Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by outside services we use, such as Google Analytics and advertising partners, so they can measure traffic and show relevant ads.
You are in control. Every major browser lets you refuse cookies, delete them, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Blocking cookies may change how some parts of the site behave, but you can still read our articles without them.
Pixels, Beacons, and Tags
Alongside cookies, PetWise Daily and our partners may use web beacons, pixels, and tags. These are tiny, invisible markers that help count visits, measure how an ad campaign performed, and see which pages draw the most attention. They work in the same family as cookies, and the same browser controls apply.
Log Files and Server Records
Like almost every website, PetWise Daily keeps standard server log files. These record your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested, the time of your visit, and the site that referred you. Log data is used for security, troubleshooting, and understanding overall traffic patterns. It is stored on our hosting servers and is not linked to your name or email address unless you have given us those details separately.
Google Analytics
PetWise Daily uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which puppy training guides get the most reads or which feeding articles keep people coming back. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit and the time you spend on them. Google may use this information under its own privacy policy. You can read how Google handles data at Google’s Privacy Policy. If you prefer not to be tracked this way, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or simply block cookies in your browser.
Advertising From Outside Partners
PetWise Daily may work with third-party advertising partners now or in the future. These partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to show you interest-based advertising and to measure how those ads perform. The partners operate their own privacy policies, and their data practices are separate from ours.
You can opt out of personalized advertising from many of these partners through the National Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org or the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info. No specific ad network is named here; those disclosures are added only after a formal partnership begins, using the wording that partner provides.
Affiliate Links and Amazon Associates
Running a pet care blog means recommending a lot of gear: crates, grooming tools, training treats, and the occasional self-cleaning litter box we genuinely like. PetWise Daily participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click an affiliate link and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those commissions help pay for hosting and keep the articles free.
Affiliate partners may use cookies to track referrals back to our site. Our recommendations are written by us, and affiliate relationships never decide which products make the cut.
Content Pulled In From Other Websites
Articles on PetWise Daily may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or posts pulled in from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly: it may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with it. This section of our policy does not cover those outside services, so we encourage you to check their privacy policies as well.
Links That Leave PetWise Daily
We link out to manufacturers, retailers, rescues, veterinary resources, and other sites we find useful. Once you click a link that leaves PetWise Daily, this privacy policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites, and we encourage you to read the policy of any site you visit after leaving ours.
Email Newsletters and CAN-SPAM
If you join the PetWise Daily newsletter, we will use your email address to send you new articles, feeding tips, training ideas, and the occasional gear roundup. We send mail only to people who signed up, and we follow the rules of the CAN-SPAM Act: every marketing email identifies PetWise Daily as the sender, includes a real return path, and carries a working unsubscribe link. One click and you are off the list, no questions asked and no hard feelings.
Opting Out
You can stop hearing from us at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, reply to ask for removal, or write to contact@petwisedaily.com and ask to be taken off the mailing list. We process opt-out requests promptly, and you will not keep receiving marketing emails after you have opted out.
When We Share Information With Others
PetWise Daily shares your information only in limited situations:
- Service providers: trusted companies that help us run the site, such as our hosting company, our email delivery service, and analytics providers. They may access data only to perform their work for us.
- Legal requirements: when the law requires it, such as responding to a court order or protecting against fraud and abuse.
- Business transfers: if PetWise Daily is ever sold or merged, reader information could transfer to the new owner, and you would be notified of any material change in how your data is handled.
Outside these situations, your information stays with us.
How We Keep Your Data Safe
We protect your information with reasonable, industry-standard measures: a secured hosting environment, encrypted connections across the site, and access controls that limit who can see stored data. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely safe, and no storage system is unbreakable. We do our best, and we are honest about the limits.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal data only as long as it serves a purpose. Newsletter subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe, at which point they are removed. Comments are retained indefinitely so we can follow up on conversations and keep discussions in context. Analytics and log data are kept in aggregated form for as long as they help us understand readership. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Comments and Social Media
When you leave a comment on PetWise Daily, your name, the comment text, and the time of your comment are stored and may be displayed publicly. Think of a comment like a note pinned to a community board: other readers can see it. If you interact with us through social media, those interactions are governed by that platform’s own rules as well as this policy.
Your Rights Under the GDPR
If you are visiting PetWise Daily from the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right of access: you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete

- Right to complain: you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@petwisedaily.com. We will respond within one month.
Your Rights Under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you these rights:
- Right to know: you can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, and how we use it
- Right to delete: you can ask us to delete your personal information, with some exceptions the law allows
- Right to opt out of the sale of personal information: you can tell us not to sell your data. PetWise Daily does not sell personal information, and a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” request will be honored
- Right to non-discrimination: exercising these rights will not change the service you receive from us
Send requests to contact@petwisedaily.com. We verify the identity behind each request and respond within one month.
When This Policy Changes
PetWise Daily may update this policy from time to time as the site grows, the law changes, or our practices change. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. We recommend checking back here occasionally so you always know where things stand.
